Lie to me

2013-8-13Every, oh i dunno, year or so, I go through a bit of a creative existential crisis…  but I think Steve Martin said it best:  “Be so good they can’t ignore you”.

I’ve said it before, and I guess I have to remind myself once in a while that doing this comic is practice, real-world experience, and I’m learning how to be good at it.  If Steve Martin’s philosophy is the goal, Toyota’s “Kaizen” philosophy is the model.

All I gotta do is look back a week, a month, a year, or through the pages of my first book, to see that I am happier now with where this comic is then I was back then.  There have been hiccups along the way, but in general, I’m pretty happy with how the art and story telling and everything is improving.

Thanks for reading the comic!  Hopefully you like it!  If you wanna support me in this learning endeavor, you can buy a book!  That would help.  If you hate online shopping, right now I have some “Charlie and the Ghost: Slow day” books in stock, they are $15 and they are a good way to kill an hour.  Or, if you want to see my drawing and comic making improve right infront of your eyes, the “Just the classiest” book is the first 400 comic strips, it’s $20, and it’s a good read!

Shameless plug.  I don’t feel ashamed because photoshop is expensive!  haha.  Have a great… tuesday?  I want to say?  PEACE OUT!
